Hi Guys
About to purchase a silver 2.0 reg no NK05XKM. Last MOT it had loads of work done by previous owner. Just wondering if anyone on here knew the car.
Dave

Do yourself a favour and go for any of the 6 cylinder variants, infinitely more reliable.

I do not mean to upset you Dave, but given the MOT history, it is not a car I would want to buy.
Add me to that list too. On older cars, condition is everything - but the MOT history indicates nothing has been done to the car unless absolutely essential to pass the MOT. Then suddenly the latest MOT is completely clear of advisories. For what it's worth, what is the service history like? Invoice evidence of recent work?
Proceed with caution (and preferably a nice 2.2 or 2.5 six-pot)

OP, you have asked if anyone knows this car and it seems nobody does. If they did then they may be more qualified to comment on the assumed maintenance history. All we can actually see is that it's not covered many miles recently and has been owned by someone who possibly can't afford to throw money at it, but ensures it is brought up to scratch at MOT time.
Lots of negativity, but at that price and that mileage on a car of that age, with a clean bill of health and four new tyres you can't really go wrong.
I'd possibly ask to see what the service history is like, and factor in a full service so you know where it's at, but hey, if there's no airbag lights then you're already winning. :D

It’s 18 yrs old if it’s running correctly, passed an MOT and in good condition others are advertised at £2500 or so, more for low miles, you are going to pay a lot more for a 6cyl in similar condition. They are a cheap fun car and no more or less reliable than any other BMW of the same age, much of the maintenence can be DIY and this forum is very good at helping with the complicated bits, lots of S/H spares available too.

Whilst I would generally agree of going for a 6cyl if this is your budget then that looks a tidy enough example.
