Hi,

Has anyone here ever owned this silver E89? It's on Autotrader and seems too cheap to me. Just want to see if I can get any info.

Thanks

Is this the one, its been on a private plate

Its been up for sale since October - just ask seller what private plate was, check MOT/ service history etc and go from there. Could be a good buy if you Ok with the spec (not my colour but we all have different tastes)

Everyone has different tastes but I imagine the colour will put off a lot of people. Looks a kind of gold to me??

dead right, will be pretty hard to sell on privately, although as a trade in not so much, its not the best colour for an e89

Its an SE with cloth seats, dont think they are heated either, 17" wheels, dodgy colour and a missing/snapped aerial

As others have said, it’s not the best specification, and probably would not be the most popular colour, surly worth a chat with the seller...

Tempted to buy it, just to annoy you all. :poke:
Go on
No parking sensors either :(
Not got parking sensors on mine. Have them on the new 1-series and tbh, don't miss them at all on the Z. C'mon, they're not that difficult to park.
You are right, but what else doesnt it have, surprised its not got a tape deck in it

I think that was an option :P

All the above negatives are valid, and it has no MOT as of today;

But plus points:

It needed new tyres at 61,000 miles and certainly looks like the fronts have been changed, so potentially tyres are 6k old at most and are probably not run flats.
Less kit, less to go wrong.
It will have 12 months MOT unless you bought it as a non-runner.
Those wheels are not made of glass.
If it has a half decent service history and everything works, I reckon you could get that easily for under £6k if it's been around a while.

£6k or maybe less for a decent mileage 6 cylinder e89 with a fresh MOT is still a bit of a bargain.

It does have climate!

Spend a bit more money and get one with some extras, leather seats and in a colour you're not likely to be stuck with when you come to move it on again... once you start totalling up the extras and the cost/time to retrofit (if possible) its not that great a bargain

Ah, but I'll be in and out again while he's still pondering
Ha! I rang the seller, he's going to get it resprayed luminous pink for me, throw in two hot water bottles and I'm paying him £700 with a new MOT.

Fixed that for you

Btw, you’d probably have more chance reselling it if it was luminous pink :poke:
