Nissan GT-R

IDK ... the performance numbers are impressive but from a styling perspecitve it looks more like a $30,000 rice burner than an $80,000 supercar ...

Well, it looks like a... Nissan :|. Never will have the styling grace of a Z

& there are some that can't stand the look of the flame surfacing on the Z4.
It's a love it or hate it thing.

I think this Nissan is similar;
There won't be many middle ground opinions.
This car will product a very dedicated following, which I believe is great for those of us that love performance cars.

Come on BMW... what'cha got up your sleeve for us next :D :D

I am hoping they will slip the motor out of the 335i into the new Z when it comes out. If they do I know where there will be a nice used coupe for sale.... :D

What Iove about the Z4M is its simplicity, don't like this, I hate loads of gizmos and flashy digital stuff in cars, I bet it drives great and has a peach of an engine but I wouldn't put 60k of my money into that, M6 or 9972s would come before any jap crap

I concur totally, simple is better, too much crap makes my head spin :dizzy:

I don't think the styling of the GT-R will ever make it into the "love-hate" category ... it is just too bland for that. I agree that opinions on the Z4 styling are quite polarized, but IMHO the GTR is just not distinctive enough to love or hate.

BTW f-n-i, I got a kick out of your line about a Nissan never having the "styling or grace of a Z" ... many (maybe even most) people think of the Nissan 240/260/280/300/350Z line when you say "Z" car (outside of this forum of course :D)

This thread alone has demonstrated some love-it-or-hate-it comments. I for one absolutely LOVE it.

The great thing about all of this is that there's choice out there for everyone to enjoy. To each their own.

I love my Bimmer, but given the opportunity, I'd consider the GT-R in a heartbeat too. Part of these discussions may be influenced by brand perceptions, and I don't perceive Nissan to be all that bad.

As far as blandness is concerned... the Z4 interior is BLAND. But I like the minimalist theme in the car, so it's a great fit for me. 8)
