Nissan 370Z

Interesting that they would compare the 370Z and the Cayman S. The reason anybody buys a 370Z is because he isn't anywhere close to being able to afford a Cayman S.

That's the point, though... I would buy the 370Z because the Cayman S is double the price.

Just like I'd buy the GT-R because the 911 is double the price.

Performance may be hotly debated between the two, but performance per dollar cannot. That's where Nissan draws it success from.

Besides... the Cayman is a little more effeminate. I dunno if I'm metro enough to be seen in one

I agree. I'd much prefer the 370Z myself! :driving:

Actually if the prices were the other way round, I'd still buy the Nissan!

New for new its doing well to compare to the much more expensive cayman S... 2nd hand well you could have either.

I always had a soft spot for the 350z but found it a bit lardy and with poor visibility which detracted from what is otherwise a great car.

Agreed, definitely on my radar :)

I hate Alcantara though, so would have to get the middle part of the seats re-trimmed, wonder if doing so would affect the seat heaters.

Mmm, already they have some nice 370Z tuning parts too. I can see myself in a tricked up Fast and Furious ricer at this rate :D

Those are sexy. I'd have to see a few other angles, but initial reaction is that looks sexy, if a bit ricerish.

Had a run in with a bright yellow 350Z tricked out as a Fast and Furious ricer this morning in my Z4! Nice looking car. 8)

Still left him in my dust though!! :P :driving:

Not feeling it and never understood the American fascination with Nissans but perhaps thats my tender years showing. I'll take a Cayman thanks. :)

New Z4 beaten before it comes out? (as a sports car).

Any news on these landing in the UK yet, I thought they were meant to be out now but nothing on the Nissan website?

Shorter, lighter, and more power. Thats the sort of change I could love.

Actually I think the final result weighs the same as the outgoing model. The 'bare' car saves weight, but this weight has been put back on again in new regulation/safety features. Evo Magazine explained this a month or two ago.

I do love the 350Z and the 370's styling looks much 'tighter', rather like a mini GTR. I considered a 350Z over the Z4, but the boot on the convertible was non-existent. The Z4 boot is actually pretty roomy for its class - the new model Z4 is crap again though - I hate metal folding roofs.
