Morning all, with us both working from home as well as we can and two children coping as well as they can we are looking for the above to help fill some of the time. New these retail for £280 but hard to find... if you have one that is no longer used and your happy to sell then please do get in contact. We are in sawbridgeworth Herts so could make shortish journey observing restrictions if you can't post - would be preferred of course.

Consider picking up a Wii U as a far cheaper alternative - easy to get hold of Wii U or original Wii games for next to nothing, still a decent console if you're not looking fir the latest and greatest (which younger children like mine, 7 and 10, have no real concept of).

If you don't mind a bit of tinkering and Googling, disc based games are entirely optional too ;)

Thanks timmyboy for taking the time to post- agree the Wii is a great system (barnyard is fab) but ours has stopped working so looking for a change and early teens expect more !! I know people tend to store these things away after a while so just thought I would ask the question rather than going the ebay route. Thanks again, Paul

No probs

Barnyard is a Wii game though, Wii U is far more powerful and shares many games with the Switch including Nario Kart 8!

Just a thought.

The Wii for us has been a great source of fun during lock down. Although we've had it for many many years we brought it out of storage and have been having some fun evenings, I'm still rubbish at Mario Kart though

Ok then, will check that out. Thanks for the tip.

+1 on the Wii U and easily exploitable. Picked one up for my Grandson off Facebook Marketplace a few months back. Only £60 and absolutely mint. A very underrated console with some superb games.

Agreed.

With a bit of effort and a decent sized SD card, it'll play anything up to and including the Playstation 1, plus native support of Gamecube, Wii and Wii U. That'll keep anyone entertained for a decade 😂

If you can get hold of a few Wii U pro controllers (as well as a couple of original Wii stick controllers), it's the icing on the cake.

Thanks for the +1 Jimbo, I will start exploring these - we have Wii controllers this fits with your suggestion nicely. Here's to a few hours of the day that aren't all about tik tok ...

Very similar experience here, great fun too but i am clearly not as dedicated as I need to be or just don't pick things up as quick as the kids who seem to take great delight in beating me most of the time - good to show it's ok to lose without 'losing it' I guess
