Before the kids turned up, we had a pair of Elises and used to go out for a pub meal, lazy evening and then a topless madcap dash through empty country lanes seeing who could get home first...excellent stuff. 
It's funny but at night with the roof down and a de-catted exhaust the engine used to sound much better than during the day.

Fur trapper hat made it's winter debut this morning and tonight... thin NF polartec gloves too but actually it was still too warm for those...
Used to do it in my MR2, doing it now. One bloke felt the need to pull up alongside me at traffic lights and say "aren't you a bit chilly luv ?".
Just drove back from bath with the top down, my hands were bloody freezing but it stayed down, have to get some gloves for the winter.

Anyone ever been caught in the rain with the roof down? I have a couple of times, generally it doesn't hit you unless it starts getting heavy! Luckily always been near somewhere I can stop lol. Don't know what I'd do if I couldn't stop anywhere, is it frowned upon to stop in a hard shoulder? It's probably quite dangerous driving when it's raining with roof down?
Just drive faster! Unfortunately experience tells me that this works for a short time until the rain comes up the windscreen sills and starts splattering you!

Driving through the city with the roof down last week, the first time I had driven the car with the roof down at night time. Pulled up at the first set of lights in the city and some fella in a Ford Galaxy opened his window and just called me a c**t.
Nice. I'd have understood if I was driving like a nutter and hassling him or something, but I was just cruising nowhere near anyone until the lights. Obviously had some sort of issue :lol:
I naturally felt obliged to then tailgate him for a while, then box him in between cars and stopping him overtaking. Turned out to be fun in the end

Yep driving on motorway coming back from silverstone tipped it down hard so I went faster until I reached the service station, was really soaked especially rear speakersTommyGG said:

Drive back about 7:30pm was another thing all together. Jupiter shining bright, out to sea, as we crested the yumps and hollows of the coast road. Stars shining brighter with each passing minute, as darkness enveloped the crisp sharp evening air and the glorious bark of a straight six ricochet back from the shimmering moonlit shadows of the passing hedgerows.
One to remember.
