night storage heater - front cover.

One of our dimplex night storage heaters seems to have a sticky thermostat - this morning it's really hot - simple question but how do you get the front cover off ? There are no screws showing and I would have thought you just lift the bugger off but all my pulling etc hasn't budged it - tried googling the answer but no success - the heater is nearly 30 year old - we moved in to our house when it was new and this heater and all the others have never been a problem till now - we have no gas in our village so have to suffer these outdated heaters.

I would expect concealed screws either on the underside or rear that give access or allow the cover to slide off.

The retaining screws are usually visible through the grille slats and then just a couple on the bottom/underside

Yep normally two concealed screws at the top and either two more at the base or just a slot either side to lift out from.

Located the little buggers - 3 hidden screws on the top - once taken off whole front panel came away easily :D couldn't see any obvious problem - thermostat button etc seems okay - there was 30 years of fluff and dust clogging everything so I gave it all a good hoover and put the cover back on - hopefully I won't walk out on the landing tomorrow morning to tropical heat
