I'm sorry but I think a lot of this loyalty is misplaced, he could've posted on here for the last time to the people that he'd met but he didn't, so, in other words he thought nothing of the people on here?

Just the way I see it. :)

Agreed, as it is getting a tad 'princess diana' hysteria

It's a shame to see anyone leave like that. But that's the Internet for you, some people are just out to tick others off while others (and I'd like to think the majority) are here to make friends with people with a common interest. Car forums can be prickly places but this one has a real community feel about it.

Cant say I've been here long enough to know him, but from the babybmw.net forum where several people left due to issues on the forum it was sad. I'm sure if there were issues on this forum more people would've been aware, so can only assume its something else.

Was he a regular poster? Perhaps his wife told him to stop spending all his time on-line, so he had to get rid of his computer?

Not necessarily anything sinister in it, but as said, unless its something serious, a good-bye thread would've been nice. Perhaps he's still in touch with the people he knew.

All the best.

He wasn't the guy I was "ahem" arguing with about removing the front number plate was he? That was ages ago. I hope not.

Circumstances sometimes dictate the way people react to situations and maybe we shouldn't judge unless we know those circumstances.

Quite right too. We don't know what happened so not judging

Just met nickm this evening for the first time at the grosvenor meet, i hope it is not the last, real nice guy, come back nick. :(

So whats the reason for deleting his account if he's still interested?

Does seem odd without a reason, so people are going to speculate.

It is quite obviously his reasons and none of our business, but I am interested, thats all.

It's nothing to do with anyone's posts. Please don't jump on the mans back. He's not done a drama-queen-esque departure.
Let's be nice eh guys? :)

Never met NickM, but it seems a little short sighted of people having a go at him when they have no idea why, could be any reason, people have lives away from the forum and anything could have happened.

I for one wish him the very best.

I would just like to add that I class nick as a good friend and was a active member of this forum ,sometimes people have there own reasons that there may not want to share on a public forum and we should respect that , but for me he would be welcome back any time no questions asked I wish him the best

I met him a couple of times, and he's a thoroughly nice bloke. I hope all is well Nick if you read this, take care mate!

Some of the posts which have been deemed to be negative are simply saying the guy obviously wanted to close his account and just move on, probably unnoticed hence he didn't say any goodbyes...

Opening a dedicated thread to say goodbye is all good, but it is going to also make members ask 'why?' more so draw attention to the fact he has left when the the guy just wanted to go without a fuss, hence why he privately emailed admin asking them to delete his account...

Hopefully this post isn't also seen as 'not being nice!'
