Finished work on Thursday just gone, only to get home and as i walked around my car I noticed there were scuff marks on the rear bumper, thought it was salt marks, only to try and wipe them off and find someone has not only scuffed the whole side of my bumper but they've also pushed in and dented the rear wing too, well pi**ed off ! Looks like someone has gone into the side of my car whilist turning, no note left or anything

Could of been done any time this week tbh as i don't usually get back to dark and as i get out the drivers side, never sawe it until Thursday night and it could of been done anywhere, so no point looking for CTTV.

Am well miffed, had the car less than six months, first month got two dings in my passenger door, which i got removed, then i got it detailed looked fab, got another ding in my drivers door and now this which need a ring wing and bumper respray, which will be £500 plus. Anyone know of any good body shops near Huddersfield

For an 85 maybe, for an 86 I think you'll be waiting some time. There are not a lot of 86 rear quarters for sale generally, none on eBay in the UK for instance at the moment.

Seems like you are parking in the wrong places. People don't give a s**t so keep away from them. I would rather walk half a mile and find a fairly safe space.

None of our cars have dings. I have seen people on supermarket car parks do loads of damage and just walk away oblivious. People carriers with kids flinging doors open are my favourite.

Healthy, walking too. Nothing more frustrating than finding some ignorant bell end has damaged your pride and joy.

Found a rear bumper on Shpock, not sure if it's still available though

Thanks all, Havard, I've come to the conclusion there are no "safe" places to park, the other day i parked at wickes on a corner space 5 spaces away from any other car. I come back from the shop and a pickup van with a load of pallets on it, had parked diagonally one foot away from my across 2 spaces next to me, with the engine still running and no one it and was no more than a foot from my car.

Then other times you have no option but to park in-between 2 cars, there, not always a vacant space with loads of room around. Its just people are inconsiderate but this damage they will definitely of known they ve done it and just driven off.

Will shop around for quotes to get the wing straightened and bumper resprayed, as mentioned if anyone knows any good body shops in Huddersfield, let me know please, as at the moment its a stab in the dark :o

I feel your pain Craig. Only when I have no other option do I park on car parks. I generally try and find street parking where possible. This seems to stop the possibly of doors being opened into you.

Although no parking is perfectly safe, I like to play the percentage game. I just find myself getting further out of town and walking back just to ensure I don't get stung for a few hundred quid through no fault of my own.

Saw a cracker yesterday in Tesco, Wigan. People leaving trolleys rolling down the slope and hitting cars at the foot of the hill. My missus walker her trolley back to the designated place to leave them, everyone else couldn't be arsed and a couple of cars had trolleys touching them when we walked past.

  feel for you Craig.

I get the bus to work so no car park duties Bromley car parks are a joke the Glades put an extra space in the line to make more money so people cannot get out without touching the next car.

I have a small dent in the same rear quarter on my Z just above the bumper on the metal wing happened at Brands Hatch I then started parking further away under a tree until and acorn fell onto the bonnet leaving a tiny dent :x :x so I now park elsewhere.

Wow. That is unlucky.

I love people who park behind the goals at our local kids football club. Just asking for trouble.

Either way, if you love your car, going out onto the road and the big wide world has its pitfalls.

I'm amazed when I see the cars parked around some of the local cricket matches and wonder as the balls sail into the side of some of them

I am never going to find them, they probably done it multiple occasions and just driven off, I've just got to let it go otherwise ill be permanently annoyed ! Am just going to have to save up and get it repaired. Only good point is I did have a patch of lacquer missing on the other side of the bumper, low down, so will get that fixed at the same time, just need to find a good repair place now and get it back to new.

That's bloody annoying! - hope you find a good repairers and can get it sorted and looking as good as new

I feel for you. It’s not as simple as parking carefully. Sometimes as per above, they simply hit you while you’re moving.

Thanks, not that it makes it any better but if Id been moving i would of got their reg and details and got them to cough up, not that I can do that, by Easter it'll look like new again though hopefully :)
