Nice new years day walk

We are lucky to live in one of many nice parts of this lovely country of ours and like to get out for walks. Today we went for a walk around Turville, a pretty village in the Chiltern hills. Here are a few photos, hope you like them

Looking up the very steep hill to Cobstone windmill.
Used in the film Chitty Chitty bang bang

Bit closer

Looking down on Turville, this village has been used for many films and TV series
Vicar of Dibley, Good night Mr Tom, Midsomer murders, Lewis, to name a few

And a few of he valley

Those are some great shots. The windmill reminds me of the one by Le Manoir near Stadhampton. I love the look of those on the horizon, especially as you don't see many in this country!

Lovely pics Firebobby, my wife and I like to walk, just wish we didn't have to drive to get to places like you have on your doorstep.

That's just a few miles from me (Great Missenden). Take the family there for walks quite regularly. Beautiful part of the world.

Really glad you like them, not the best photos as they were taken on my mobile phone. I think the UK has some stunning countryside and you don't normally need to go to far to reach it.
Maybe have to arrange a Chilterns drive, the only problem is there are lots of small lanes, so it would be more a scenic tour than a blast

Very nice pics, I live in the Chilterns just east of Aston Clinton, in a village called Wigginton. Nice for walks as we are right on top of the ridge 800ft up on a hill. Some lovely roads as said but very narrow! Goes without saying I'd be up for a Chilterns drive, as I'm sure will a certain retiring shy type who drives an interlagos blue z4mr :D

Love the pictures. The perfect way to spend new years day. We have not been out of the house today. The weather has been proper cr#p. It looks much better tommorrow, so will get a decent walk in accross the moor. Hopefuly some snow up there after today. :D
