Nice looking wheel nuts

Going to be getting my wheels replaced when i go to London next weekend. I'm looking to replace my wheel nuts at the same time. Are the wheel nuts all the same as in just get any set from anywhere? Also, I've seen some wheel nuts a few months ago where they where were shiny and slightly multi coloured. Anyone seen these before and know where i can get them from?

Hi jimmy they are bolts not nuts. They are M12 x1.5 pitch 26mm long I think? With a 60 degree head angle. Hope that helps buddy?

Ps any good wheel supplier should be able to help. Don't or get locking wheel nuts.

So, back on topic... I am interested in this as I got shiny new bolts last year that have now dulled and gone rubbish... I have put plastic bolt covers on bought from Ace parts on eBay, but really not sure about them. So are there any options for non-corroding yet economical bolt sets out there ? And are silver or black best, whatcha reckon ?

Here's a pic of my bolt covers - they can break if not put on 'just so', and you need to be a little careful getting them off with the tool you're provided with as it has sharp metal edges that could mark the alloy if you're not careful :

Yeah, I suppose - they look better on the wheels where I have no locking bolts and all five are the same. Think you can get them with a rounded base specially for the locking bolts now. They just fill the hole a lot more than the bolts themselves, so take some getting used to. Being chromed plastic, as long as they don't get scratched they will stay fresh for a while I think. I'd rather have proper metal chromed ones, but CBA looking harder

Ok found the wheels nuts that I was talking about. What do you guys think of them?

get them from here http://www.taperpro.co.uk/

bing those covers look great.

Not bad for bits of plastic. I actually got them from Redline not Ace Parts - they were £9.99 for 20. They don't have them in stock anymore though.

It was a typo!! they look good quality

MM - question... I have 15mm spacers up front, and 20mm spacers on the back... What length of bolts do I need - 40mm and 45mm ?

Bump, i would like to know this too. Ordering the same spacer set for mine. What spacers are you using and
any chance you can provide a link?

Thanks,

Right guys you will need 45mm long bolts for the rear and 40mm for the fronts or there about. If you can order them like that then great if not send them to me and i will machine half down for you.

The other option is to buy studs and then nuts like this http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CEoQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2FBMW-Conversion-Wheel-Stud-Kit-inc-Nuts-%2F300905057436&ei=ofvCUZz1J8LIPO3EgOgL&usg=AFQjCNHFFrLoNLaihLaxY-I_nymjcFsE4A&sig2=vjj-miQxHp1KV7epD4MTTQ&bvm=bv.48175248,d.ZWU&cad=rja

There are nicer sets out there.

RichD, I used this eBay seller / item -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-E8...Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item460583b8b1

Word of warning, the set comes with machined bolts and locking bolts. The normal bolts were fine, turns out the locking bots were machined too short... Ended up rounding one off on the rear and nearly needed a new hub at a price of £300 fitted :( . Other than that though, the spacers are just fine. May just have been a one off error as I think others have used this chap with no issues.

Update on the plastic covers for the bolts - washing the car yesterday I noticed the silver had started to come off them... After cleaning the wheels with Megs wheel cleaner the damage had gotten worse. So either I am washing my wheels way too much or they are not very resistant to wheel cleaner

That said, for £9.99 I will just buy another set for now :D
