image.jpegSo I've been toying with getting some black grills for a while so when a set of silver ones came up for sale a few weeks ago I snapped them up with the intention of spraying them black. Then I found out the cost of a can of Satin black and Plastic primer :headbang: should of just got some black ones off eBay.
Anyway lovely day today so thought I'd split them clean them and spray them, here's the results

Not to my taste. Don't think it does anything for the Zed unless it's part of a coherent theme for the car

Looks good with the right colour combo, that looks like a good mix with the lower area already black so from me

In my opinion the black grills look better than the chrome surrounded and even on my black Zed where there is no contrast. I think they look even better on white or red body colours.

I prefer your Zed with the black.

Thanks for your input  the way I see it is that I have more black on the car in, roof, seats, steering wheel, tyres and lower grill than I do chrome and silver, so yes I do have a coherent theme to carry on to the grills. Although I do agree that it might not be to everyone's taste.

They look good mate  I've been toying with doing mine lately

Rather than spray your own grab a set off here if cheap enough or a black set off eBay so you can at least put it back to original at a later date as not everyone likes black grills
TBH it looks better in the flesh, the photo doesn't do it justice.

Sure - just my opinion and judging from comments in the minority. What matters is if you like it and of course in this case it's easily reversible

Trouble with plastidip from what I've seen is it is textured and can peel a bit too easily which is why I went the way I did
