Nice Day for a Parking Penalty Notice

I remember getting a ticket in Manchester for being 3 minutes late back to my car. I got my £30 worth in insults to the attendant and his colleague. I used up all my favourites like "did you fail the Police exam" and "I assume you were abused / bullied as a child, delete as appropriate etc.

When I looked at his watch, it was 5 minutes ahead of mine. I couldn't even be bothered contesting it. Never had one since though as I don't give those sad tossers an inch. I may come across as quite bitter in my posts... :D

If you don't want a parking fine get back on time,you come across as a prat with those responses.The guy was only doing his job,like it or not.
It seems like you learnt a lesson that day if you have not had a ticket since :evil:

Not a lesson learned at all. Prat or not it was a heat of the moment thing. After running in a suit 400 yards with a laptop bag I found the guy smirking as he put the ticket on the screen. They were picking on easy targets and the usual leeway is meant to be 5 minutes. I was actually 2 minutes within the tolerance that should have been given.

Considering I had left the Police a year before (after 7 years) I think I qualified to comment on what is decent parking manners. The guys watch was not in line with the correct time either, he was trading on the fact that most would not want to go through the full process of writing a letter and possibly getting a higher fine in the future, whilst possibly making a name for himself in the process. If you think this is someone "doing their job", then he ruins it for all the other decent, honest attendants out there (if there are any).

I used to give around 10 minutes leeway and even then let people go if they were decent folk who had just got delayed, not had change etc. Idiots who parked on double yellows and zig zags at zebra crossings were not quite as fortunate however.

Proper jobs worth getting concerned about not parking between the lines in your case. That would nark me, in fact it HAS narked me!

Thanks alot :)

End of the day the car park has rules which I broke, it's one of them where you try help protect your car as much you can from others that couldn't care less, only so much you can do. It is a little pedantic especially with that parking space but the attendant is only doing their job.

Still annoying though :)
