Got home this afternoon after a trip to Halfords and gave the zed a quick wash and wax. Used the new AutoGlym wax, shine came up lovely! :D

I do like spending time cleaning and polishing my cars... although its 100% more of a lazy weekend thing to do, spend a good couple of hours doing it, cant bring myself to do it after work :o

Looks good Steven - how did you find the Auto Glym Wax - easy to use?

I use Auto Glym Super Resin Polish which is incredibly easy to apply and bring to a shine, then add a layer of Meguirs Wax - would be interested in how you found the AG wax. Nice results.

Yeah, was actually really easy as well. Been a while since I've properly waxed a car, only had the zed 2 weeks, and had forgotten you need a bit a elbow grease to get the wax off once set! Was a slightly warm job in the sun! but happy with the results, I did get a bit wax happy with it though!

Looks fantastic! Good job.

Just ordered the wax on your recommendation. Garage looks like an Autoglym warehouse anyway so might as well complete the set :D

I use AG HD Wax and have done for a year or so, its a great wax for the money and lasts a good 4-6 Months as well.
One tub seems to last for ages as well so it works out pretty good value as well.

I've washed mine once since I bought it , with washing up liquid !

I wouldn't.... http://www.carcareadvice.co.uk/faq/exterior-paintwork/can-i-use-washing-up-liquid-to-clean-my-car.htm

Not the first time I heard this either.

Your cars looking well, and just the same as mine from the outside :) I really like the Sterling grey

I gave mine a little love with some dodo juice lime prime pre wax polish/cleanser and then a coat of Chemical Guys petes 53 wax. I'll give it another coat very soon I think. It lives in the garage and comes out on nice days so should still be pristine :D

Cheers , advice taken on board , I'll stop washing it altogether
I don't subscribe to the polish all day and put it back in the garage ownership , hence why I thoroughly enjoyed ragging it around the ring earlier this year along with doing a couple of other euro trips this year .
I'm not knocking anyone for doing it but each to their own , I prefer driving to cleaning . I was exactly the same with the z3 mc , and every other car I've owned .

The HD wax is good, easy to apply and seems to last forever, must have done at least 4 cars and there's still some left.

Not sure what the beading is like with it though? Hopefully won't have to find out for a while if the rain stays off!

whilst I don't like to clean my car and keep it in the garage all nice and tidy, I do love to "drive it like I stole it" and I like the rally look.

all common sense and logic as well as running plant equipment on large sites tells me that it is vital to try and keep the important parts clean (or as clean as possible) so that it's less likely to break down on you!

Fair point, one which I use as well. Which is why I run it on V-power and nothing else. :driving:

As mine stays outside, near some vicious trees with evil sap, I tend only to wash it every few weeks (as it only goes every few weeks).

But I'm off to Scotland for a week in it, so gave it the once over today. No snow foam, clay. The paint work really needs a machine polish soon though. When I can afford one!

Also fitted my driver's side cup holder and new front bumper screws.

Soon to be ruined as it's due to rain whilst I'm away. I'll try for a beading pic if I can.
