Police Scotland just posted this understated update on FB :)

"A93 Ballater-Braemar remains CLOSED 1 mile east of Crathie and likely to be for some time. Further updates available from .@Aberdeenshire"
 
This is the Cambus oMay bridge - not far from that road under "normal" conditions.

My wife's family come from the area and we have driven that road, and we have walked across Cambus oMay bridge many times, looks like it's had a good battering, the power of mother nature :(

It looks like its going to get worse again over the weekend with torrential rain for Scotland, forecast rain in the Midlands pretty much all weekend.

I'm not sure I would have, the risk of actual death over any possible benefit in time saved doesn't seem worth it. You can see the water has eroded the soil below the road, if the road collapses as you are going over your going to get wet real fast.
