Next mod...Carbon badges?...

Hi all!

I am contemplating buying some carbon badges (black ones) as the next mod for my Black roadster. I've just got a ZHP gearknob and gonna fit this weekend with the hope of not hurting myself in the process. Plus, I need to fit the clear headlights, as thanks to Peddy, I sourced the other one I was looking for!

But, as for the carbon badges, I am presuming most got from ebay? I've read through a few posts and think I need the following:
73mm for Bonnet,
82mm for Boot,
2 x 82mm for Side Indicators
45mm for Steering Wheel

However, I've looked on ebay and there are quite a few sellers, can anyone recommend one that they've used recently please? I just dont wanna get any crappy ones :)

This modding business is so damn addictive! I would have a lot more money in my pocket for xmas presents if it wasn't for this site! (and a lot uglier looking car! :D )

Thanks!

those sizes look ok.
The bonnet badge will never quite be the right size - also its a pig to fit as there are humps in the bonnet which do not appear on the generic badge you will have to buy. in the end I used Bostic to glue the bonnet badge on.
The repeaters are easy peasy, although you will have to 'give it some' to prise off the old badges.
Boot is a pain as mine was well stuck, but the end result is brilliant.
For my wheels (CSLs) had to glue on as couldnt quite get the correct size but you want the metal OEM style clip backing - not the cheap plastic backs.

good luck!

Your measurements look correct as above. You will probably need a dremel or similar to grind the bonnet badge and make it fit. I sanded mine for a long time to get it perfect :headbang:

I did the other 8 badges in about 15 mins total. Boot badge and wheels just pop off with carefull prying, some glue needed to fit the sides and bonnet and the steering wheel badge just sticks straight on. 8)

For god sake just stick the steering wheel one over the top of the other, dont try and pry it off, or airbag face moment :P

I got mine from an eBay seller called newlookstyling.

Came to around £50 for all 9 badges.

The front i needed to dremel the edges as its diameter is 1mm bigger then stock...

Stuck the sides and front with some silicone adhesive... the steering wheel badge on top of the stock one.

The rest pop into place... the rear boot badge for me was a real pita.... to cut a long story short it required me drilling the two plastic pins out of my boot lid as they snapped when i removed my stock badge.

Thanks aquazi - however that ebay seller doesnt seem to be registered any more. Typical. :(

Any other ideas guys or recommendations guys..?

Thanks

Interesting troubles you guys had getting badges off.

Bonnet is of course just 2 self tapping nuts on the pins, accessed from the grill.

Wings just need dental floss and it cuts through the 3m adhesive pads real easy. Replacement is eaither dealer pads for a couple of £'s or silicone adhesive.

Boot lid is just a simple push fit and with car can be pryed out with a thin scraper using cloth over it to prevent marking. Aftermarket pins are slightly smaller so again a dab of silicone to hold it in place.

Airbag - your on yuor own. I cut the old one out but risky and difficult and in reality you shoudl not have a badge on it as if it deplys it may get stuck in your head  that's actually best left to a decal, even though I avoid my own advice and used a badge
