So it's been on the news today that Fuel prices are down from last month by the largest amount since the last time they went down that much.
They say over a month, but I noticed it happened overnight, around the 27th September. (I was in Hull, and thought bloody hell it's cheap here, filled up, then saw another 5 stations had dropped their pants on the price on the way home)

It's stayed the same here ever since. How's it doing round your way?

Could it be signs of stability in Syria? have the government tinkered with the duty recently? or has Asda bulk bought two years ahead and it's just come up trumps for them and every one else is feeling the pain?

Right, off to use slightly less money than I would have last month.
No Scrap that, I'll put my foot down a bit further :driving:

Fuel dropped to around 128.9 - 130.9 for petrol here in falmouth (Cornwall) and I rejoiced! and then moaned because fuel should be below a £1 a litre!! lol :headbang:

Still about £1.31 at our local Morrisons, which is annoying me as I think that Tesco and Sainsburys are at about £1.29... But the distance to get there will just offset the 2p per litre difference

Nice that it's not £1.38 anymore - did seem to shoot right up around the time the US were threatening to go beat up Libya.

I went and had a look at petrol prices over the last 10 years - made me weep

Wonder what happened to that EC price rigging enquiry started in May ?

It is scary how petrol prices have gone over the last 10 years Bing. The worrying thing is, we are at the mercy of the powers that be in this area. I remember reading an article about hydrogen fuel technology and in the article it stated that the big oil/petrol companies such as BP had already developed near complete control over hydrogen fuel technology and developments. It went on to state (the obvious really) that BP etc would decide to implement Hydrogen technology as and when they pleased in order to make the ridiculously inflated fuel prices continue for as long as possible.

Like I said, this was from something I read. Could well be a load of nonsense, but you can't help but worry!

When I got my licence in 1990 (yes, I know there are lots of people who've been driving longer and paid 2 bob per gallon...) it was about 50p per litre. Even as late as 2007 it was 85-89p per litre. I get that the cost of living rises over time as a matter of course, but still - that's a hell of a rise in 6 years.

I'd be very surprised indeed if the oil companies hadn't gotten themselves well into the alternative fuel technology game already - they'd be mugs not to have done so. Who makes the most hydrogen fuel cells though ? Bet it's the Chinese...

Price rigging be damned, look to those thieving feckers in Westminster...

Yeah. In my googling I did find a fair few graphs showing how much tax makes up the petrol price at the pump. Scandalous... Though if they chopped it (never happen, but let's imagine...) where would they get the £billions to fill the hole in the budget ?

I couldn't tell you how much it costs around here. My derv is so economical that it was only a shilling a gallon last time I filled up.
