Has anyone heard, experienced this or know a little about it? The E85 did make the list of vehicles.

Never heard about this before. Somewhat concerned with e85 on that list. Then again all incidents have been in America?

Dozens of cases out of 5 million cars.
The same kind of proportion of BMWs damaged by tornadoes in the US in recent years.
I'll worry about this one after I stop worrying about BMW causing asteroids to crash land on my car.

There are other countries affected as well I know they said Korea is launching its own investigation into it with the same occurrences.

As far as I knew the e85/86 drive trans were built in German then shipped to Spartanburg SC in the US for final assembly then shipped globally. For those it kind of limits the global fingers in the cookie jar for production compared to say a Ford Focus

More worried that Elvis will break into my car after having consumed a bottle of Remy Martin and then spontaneously combusting.

probably just random chance or cars with a fuel leak. I wont be loosing any sleep over it

Buyer's remorse. That's probably petrol not water.

As a side point, how many here would be salvaging those clear rear lights before they go up in flames? :D

Yeah I know no worries right but I still would hate it if I were in this pic

I would love to have that kind of water pressure..
Wouldn't we all, doc told me it's an age thing.
I thought holding back the water pressure was the age thing, especially after a few pints! :P

There were reports of engine cooling fans shorting due to faulty or corroded connectors which burn out BMW's including the e85, but that's an old story but did involve parked/locked cars (I assume there is a live feed?).
