Newlands corner meet, 20th November.

Just you or the whole gathering?

I'm still up for meeting at Petworth at about 08:00 and making our way to Newlands Corner. We may have to take it a bit easy - lot of leaves and maybe fallen branches - but it's still a run out.

The forecast i have seen is only light rain until 10:00 and then dry.

If at least one other person says that they'll aim to be at Petworth at 08:00 then I'll be there (and having typed this I see that person is Roundozo - good man) see you at Petworth at 08:00.

A spell of heavy rain and some very strong winds are expected to sweep across southern and southeastern parts of England during Saturday night and Sunday morning. Gusts of 45-55 mph are likely inland and 60-65 mph near English Channel coasts, but we expect the strongest winds to affect coastal counties from the Isle of Wight eastwards, where 70-80 mph gusts are possible (see separate Amber warning).

Please be aware of the risk of difficult driving conditions due to localised surface water flooding and possible debris from trees.

I've given up trusting the BBC. Met office and other sources say otherwise. I think the beeb love weather hyperventilating. I.e OMG THERRS ONE SNOW FLAKE, EVERYONE WILL DIE!!!

anyhoos. Should be a good day out. See you tomorrow RickRob!

Forecast improving all the time. At this rate I'll have the roof down and be wearing shorts and a T Shirt

I have just driven from Cobham through Guildford and it's chucking it down. Watch out for the leaves tomorrow guys!

Quite tempted to join you guys, hopefully the weather improves tomorrow, still tipping it down in Farnborough :(

Please do - the more the merrier.

I'm definitely up for it!

Well its been tipping it down for most of the night, our garden is flooded in places, its fairly windy and sky looks bleak. Newlands doesnt really have any cover so reluctantly decided to pull as it wont be any fun and there could be a fair amount of debris on the roads.
If others are taking the same view how about rescheduling to next Sunday.

70mph gusts and not particularly good or safe driving conditions means I'm out as well. Sorry about that but it just doesn't seem a wise idea! Don't fancy doing the m25 or country lanes in this if it is not really necessary really.

Miffed because the car was washed yesterday in preparation! Be careful out there!

Nice to meet you all, was a good turn out in the end. Driving wasn't too treacherous either, well apart from following RickRob through a river at one point. Water up to the top of the tyres depth too!

Anyhoos, a few pics taken from my phone.

Already had the trees worth of leaves removed from the front grill. There was no way I was putting it away without cleaning it after it's swim!

A great meeting. Weather good - only rained a bit whilst at Newlands Corner. Yes, that flooded road I took Roundozo and Darkangelv2 down was indeed rather more flooded than I thought. :o No dramas though, we all got to the other side!

Now home and Ifold bathed in sunshine.
