Hi Peeps,

Just a quick one to introduce the new motor.

Picked her up at lunch time. Not many photos as have been driving all afternoon. Such a great day!

What a fun afternoon!

Gets a few looks for a 12 year old car I will say!

Hi Bacon,

What fine taste in cars you have!

North Yorkshire near Wetherby.

Had a quick look at yours. The Sapphire looks a nice colour. Looks like it has a hint of Blue? But it could just be my phone?

Are you pleased with yours? It's my 1st venture away from a 4pot. The 6 is so smooth.

I've only had mine for a couple of weeks and I'm absolutely loving it ! I had a few cars on my list that I ended up test driving which included a Porsche Boxster S (with I didn't like at all ) a Nissan 350z , and a 370z which was an absolute beast but not refined in any way. So , besides being a better drive my Coupe is also the best looking one out of the bunch IMO. The Black Sapphire actually has a silver sparkle to it in the sun (when it's clean , black is tough to keep shining !) I believe the rare Carbon black has a slightly blue tinge to it . There's also a Ruby black too. Which one is your's then ? Anyway I hope you enjoy driving it , I'll be keeping mine for several years hopefully ,its got 93k on the clock and I don't do many miles per year . Cheers :driving:

You have had the same thought process as me!

I don't really like the look of the Boxster and figured that it would be alot more expensive to run.

I had wanted a 370 for a while but I am ashamed to say that the Coupe was never on my radar until I seriously started to look. The Roadster was completely out of the question as I just wanted a stiff and focused car.

When we picked up the car yesterday we got a good chance to look round the Roadster. They look great but I love the lines of the coupe.

An S2000 was also on the list but again even with a hardtop I don't think it would be right for me. I think the engine would annoy me once the novelty wore off to!

Mines the Ruby, hard to see unless you really look for it but at sunset yesterday you could definitely see it. When I went for the test drive a week ago you could for sure see it in the sun.

I am sure if there is a meet up this way it would be good to compare them both side by side.

I see you have had a Capri? My dad had Capri's and by default I have ran a few.

We had a mk2 2ltr and a mk3 1.6 laser. Never had the mk1 but in my opinion the most pretty.

Ruby Black looks fantastic when the sun is playing ball.

Another former Capri owner here - I had a couple of 2.8 Injections back in the 80s. Maybe that's why we all seem to like E86s?

Isn’t that a great looking car!

The carbon black does indeed have a hint of blue in the light. In the night it really does look really dark though...

Welcome Bacon!
Just bought my Z4C just down the road from you today at Sherburn in Elmet.
Took the short A64 Journey back up to York
Hope to see you about some day :driving:
