Arranged purchase of my new car today, more than a bit chuffed as I've been waiting a while for this day, it's a 56 plate Z4MC, Ruby black with champagne leather, heated seats, piano black trim, PDC, nav, on 107k with fsh and runs great, Will be getting the rod bearing shells done immediately to be safe. My current car will be for sale very soon at around £7k if anyone's interested. The next week or so is going to feel like an eternity until I collect it! Thanks to all for advice info and help, especially to Marc aka D4dawg who came with me to see the car. Happy as a pig in shite!

Congratulations - ruby black is beautiful in the sun, and those wheels are utterly luverly 8)

For gawds sake get those exhaust tips scrubbed soon though  :D

Thanks for the replies all, I love Ruby black too, and after both diamond black and Sapphire black BMW's in the past it's nice to have a different shade, and I love how it changes in the sunlight.
I don't think it's lowered, but very wide wheels on very low profile tyres might be having that visual effect.

Bing the wheels will be for sale as they're not to my taste, you'd be welcome to purchase them if you like

Nice 8) So you've got the right engine. Just that tin top to sort now.

And a proper Aerial.

Thanks buzy, I'm afraid I'm a die hard member of the stubby club so that won't be changing.

Fishy Dave, couldn't agree more, Will be changing them for something a little more German :D

Nice one on the purchase looks nice   would you mind sharing how much? Surprised the seller didn't polish the chrome tips! It's definitely sitting on h&r lowering springs

Let's just say I paid a fair price I was happy with considering it could do with discs all round, rear brake lines are a bit corroded and needs a front end respray as its very stone chipped. Needs a damn good clean all round!

Looks great (not the wheels though!), well done :)
I think buying a high miles one of these at the moment is a great shout. They're relatively devalued imo and if you intend to use it I can't see you loosing much, if any money. Refresh the same things that you'd probably do anyway on a 70k car and you'll have a sweet running M for I imagine a LOT less cost than some buying into these at low miles. Enjoy

Well done Dan, looks lovely (for a coupe) and I like the wheels, think they suit the car. Getting a bit common though, all these M's :P
I'm sure ol Dawg will show you a few detailing tips.

Well done, I didn't see that coming  the M club is proving a great place to be, you'll love it

The S54 path seems well trodden just lately with current Z owners making the switch  great move i would say OP & as already pointed out buying in on high miles / lowish price can make sense if looked after well .
Enjoy it , they do offer a great ownership experience

Beedub I already do mate, after many runs in the passenger seat of D4dawgs lovely MR, his one has very performance oriented mods which is the way I usually go and want to go with it as his sounds epic with the decat, Eisenmann race and Eventuri.
Tomk totally agree! And boy do I intend to use it! No fair weather garage queen here!
Thanks Fred, common as mook eh! Bo20selecta20mel20b726550.jpg
Pastry, thanks, I'm sure I will mate, see you on the roads soon I'm sure as you're not far from me.

Mr Wilks cheers buddy, been waiting for the right time/car to make the transition, Mr D4dawg is partly to blame for egging me on to just bite the bullet and do it. Needs a bit of work but I'm not scared of that, and I'll end up with a great car after a few bits are sorted, and the satisfaction of having brought it up to scratch and put my stamp on it.
One more week!
