Hi Guys,

Have been lurking on the forum for a couple of weeks, finally picked up my Z4 35i M Sport yesterday...and what a car it is!

Have a few bits and pieces planned for her, but ill post those as they arrive /are applied.

Here's a pic

Wondered if anyone is able to tell me if the headlights on the Z4 are an open system, as I saw condensation on the inside of the headlights....the dealer tells me that happens after a wash but I'm not convinced....

Thanks

Bhav

Looks like you have got yourself a cracking looking zed. Looking forward to seeing what mods you have planned

Great looking Z
There should be no condensation in the lights, think thats BS from the dealer
Have a look in the E89 problem section i'm sure there's a thread about this

X2...

Welcome Bhav... look forward to seeing it in the flesh soon

Minor condensation seems to affect most BMW's with Xenons in the cold... if it doesnt disappear after a few minutes with the lights then its def an issues.

If the lights are just "misted" then it should disappear, however if there are actual water dropplets in there then its a new headlight. I assume this is an AUC car so if you do need a new headlight it will be covered?

Had condensation in rears, but never seen any in the fronts.
If there is then i would suggest theres a problem.
When does it form, overnight, after a run or after washing?
I can see holes in the bottom to ventilate, and the handbook mentions, but still why should it occur for some and not others.

Thanks for the warm welcome

I am going to wash the car a few times over the next few days and figure out if the condensation re-appears, I checked this morning and it had all disappeared

Just ordered a set of BMW Performance Grills, stubby and an Ipod cable...so much for not modding this car straight away

Looking at some CREE H8 bulbs for the Angle Eye's anyone have a brand they can recommend ?

The condensation will burn off, i've had it before it's no biggy.
Congrats by the way, lovely car....shame about the colour

Great looking car, Bhav. :)

As others have said, light condensation is normal and is mentioned in the owners manual. I occasionally get a very light misting in mine but it goes pretty quickly. This is quite distinct from the droplet's you'll see if/when there's a problem. Keep an eye out for it as it's a common fault on the E89. Related thread below.
