Hi All,

A newbie on the fourm...been lurking over the last week or so and reading up on a few of the topics.

I am looking to get a replacement for my 350z and the z4 35i is currently the front runner. I intend to mod the car so first up will be an ECU reflash (stage 1), followed by some asthetic mods, loving the look of the 3D design kit.

I have just found a decent car at the dealership and spotted an optional extra I haven't seen on any other Zed's, ive looked at.

So my question to you is, is the adaptive M Sport suspension worth the money ?
Does it offer adjustable ride height ?

After running a set of HKS coilovers on my zed for 3 years I am used to a hard ride (they were set to stiff), but I dont want to spend extra cash on the m sport suspension and find myself looking at coilovers in a few months.

Thanks for the help and im looking forward to being a part of the forum :)

Welcome, no doubt someone with knowledge of the M Sport Suspension will chime in, although having just googled the subject, it looks like it is not user adjustable, but well worth having.

Welcome  .... but I'm another who can't help with the question. Oh well, at least I bumped the thread :D

Not user adjustable just comes set 10mm lower, but I think the 35i is lower anyway...but Maniac is the one who can guide you on this....

I find that chart helpful to give you a guide. I got the adaptive suspension and appreciate the firmer ride when I want to be sportier (along with the softer ride in town), but I do feel it on the expensive side.

edit: ride height isn't adjustable, just lowered

Welcome, a tuned N54 engine in the Z4 is lots of fun, you won't be disappointed

Lot's of options on suspension modifications, if you don't like the ride height or handling of the standard setup. The standard 35i without adaptive suspension does not have the 10mm lower ride height that you will get with the adaptive suspension option. My understanding is that the adaptive suspensions damping and rebound settings change depending on whether you are in 'Normal', 'Sport' or 'Sport+' mode, as stated the ride height stays the same though.

If you want a subtle drop, then the Eibach Pro kit provides a lowered stance with progressive rate springs.

Hey bud welcome. Check out a few of my posts, i'm running eibachs on my 35i without the adaptive suspension option. I find that if you prefer sportier driving characteristics, eibachs offer the better performance. I've also run a number of maps on my N54 with some decent gains.

is the suspension adaptive or M sport ?
i had active suspension & steering on previous 645ci & it was kit i didn't look for but in essence was most impressive . . . for a big car it cornered like a 911 with almost zero body roll + ultimate comfort . . . . . so not quite the same as my Z4c :o but my bond is still strong :D

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

Thanks for the replies on the M Sport suspension, I would be interested to hear, how the M Sport strut's handle lowering springs, if anyone has done this so far.

Just been browsing the Tein site and they dont made a set of coilovers with EDFC for the E89 so looks like ill have to go with Eibach's and pay the front bumper doesn't touch as I go up the drive way.

To give you an idea of how low I like my cars...this is what my zed looked like :)
