I have owned a couple Z4 over the years, one 2004 and two different 2006. Personally, I had great luck with them and got the fever for another and looking at a nice, 2012 with 3.5 and 40K miles for 20K. I have read concerns about the timing chain, so what else should I be concerned with or should I be looking at a different year model?

The 3.5 is actually called a 35i or 35is older e85 called things 3.5 ..not that they had a 3.5i..

Anyway the camchain is the least of your worries on a 35i/35is

Different model years have little impact on most issues..

Typically, somewhere after 60k miles various issues TEND to appear ..but ..all vary variable..

If cost of ownership and/or reliability are concerns best with a post 2015 20i28i or a 23i/30i

If the camchain is the least what are the other big issues that I need to know?
