Morning all,

New to the forum, sort of... a few posts in. Great knowledgebase!

A little history - I've owned the car for a little over 3 years now - 2003 2.5i. I went for a sports car after quiting motorbikes - 3 accidents in 3 years (knocked off twice - I was enitely innocent!) drew the conclusion that biking wasn't for me. I've loved the Z4 from day one. Few issues along the way:
Rear springs - went once and replaced in warranty. One went again recently, had it and the matching one replaced under good will (I paid the labour).
Hood motor - kept the car outside, leaves got into the channel and then the motor. Cost a little under £1K to replace at main dealer.

Anyway here's a picture:

This is clayed - decided to give it a try after reading the forum here. Very happy. Will post more once I've had some work done.

A couple minor changes - I've fitted a Dension GW300 which is working brilliantly and Eagle F1s in place of the RFTs, which seems great so far!

After 3 years I did want a change, but after 3 months of browsing I couldn't see anything I wanted... that would offer much benefit over what I've got... within budget! So started fiddling with what I've got. Got it booked in to have a couple dents removed, front bumper respray and wheels refurbed. Then maybe up to Didcot Autos to get a few little niggles sorted.

Anyway, from what I've seen it's a great forum without the usual idiots!
(Thanks to gannet for the welcome on another posting)

Cheers

Hi and welcome, instead of a wheel refurb have you though about getting some OEM 18" rims?

Was very tempted with 18s, love 108s but on dark cars! Actually quite fancied the M6 alloys. However, really have had it with eBay (seemed to be the best source) which made life harder. Also just had a new set of tyres. While they're too small I actually quite like the 103s - I bought these soon after the car to reaplce the really weedy Star Alloys that were on it.

I thought Id seen a first post from you somewhere

I have my car for almost 3 years and have been looking around but like you can't see anything else for the money that I like. not really a hardship to keep it :D

Its often really hard to appreciate your car after a few years of ownership. I started to look at other cars and was very tempted to trade mine in for a newer 2006/7 Z4 just to have a fresher car with more options than i have. I realised that instead of spending another 6/7k upgrading i would be more than happy with my current car if i spent 1k making it look mint.

Isn't it strange how your own car can start to look/feel bland until you see someone else drive it. Then all you can think is god it looks good :D

Right, despite what I said your post now has me obessing about how to sell on my tyres and get some 18s. Damn. Should have just done it in the first place.

Also, thanks to everyone else for the welcomes!

You could try somewhere like http://www.bmautosport.co.uk to avoid email, they buy and sell BMW alloys, although I am sure someone can point you in the direction of somewhere nearer to you. What about some ellipsoids?

Good link, thanks.

Have begun punting the old ones around, see what happens! I need to get most of the money back that I've just spent on the new tyres.
