Hi guys

Not yet a Z4 owner but frantically looking for something around the £3k range. Think i'm angling towards the 2.5l but if anyone has any good recommendations please shout out!

Currently have a 11 Plate 3 series sports plus touring which i have loved and cherished for over 5 years, plan to keep this and use the Z4 for a bit of fun on a weekend.

If you see any good examples for sale please let me know.

Cheers

Andi

Hi Andi, welcome along.
Is York your surname or your location. Just thinking that if we knew roughly where you are, then we could point you towards closer cars.
FWIW, I just bought my wife a 2.5i auto and she absolutely loves it. Wasn't too bothered about ultimate BHP, given the kind of roads around here, but the 6-cyl sounds lovely.

Hi Andi and welcome to the forum. Have you seen the classifieds section on this forum? I can't say for sure but I would expect cars sold on an enthusiast forum would on average be better looked after than elsewhere so it might be a good place to look! You can subscribe to new posts at the bottom of the page too if you want emails right away.

I just had a quick look and there was a 3L at 102k miles for £3250 for sale not long ago (but that might have sold by now), so you might find a good 3L in your budget too :driving:

Thanks for the replies, I live in York and work in Leeds so any around that area would be good.

Yes I saw the 3l on there, think it was in Barnsley which isn't too far away.

I've seen one I liked on ebay, 2.5 in silver but discovered it had had 12 previous owners and only one key so it put me off a little bit. Was hoping to find one that's been loved and taken care of if possible.

The one key is a bit of a faff, but sometimes the amount of owners isn't such an issue, providing you check what has happened to the car. With these being primarily summer cars, and appealing to a bit of a niche market, many of them pass through quite a few owners. Not always a bad thing as each new owner may start with more enthusiasm to do stuff.
For example, my wife's one came to us in extremely good condition, but that hasn't stopped me tweaking and fettling to make it even better.
As everyone always says, service history is a good indicator, and no big gaps in it.

Welcome to the forum Andi.

Hopefully you'll find a good one - then you can show us some photos!

Congratulations.

It looks like you have bought a 3 litre with 107 wheels - excellent!

Thanks fella’s now time to work on all the little things that aren’t quite right yet. I’m sure I’ll be asking lots of questions and reading loads of posts in the next few months.
