Newbie Z4 Coupe Owner ... loving it!

Hi folks,

Thought I'd introduce my new Z4 Coupe purchased from a top bloke called Mike last weekend. He was gutted to see it go, and I felt harsh buying it from him, but loved the drive home and enjoying getting in it everyday this week to get to the office.

It's a lovely spec, Montego Blue, Champagne Nappa leather, Zenons, Nav, heated seats, piano black dash, cruise, parking sensors, aux in, and the key one for me (just had a baby) the ability to turn off the passenger airbag!

First things first, stubby aerial has arrived and being fitted this afternoon, m sport stubby gear knob ordered, bluetooth music module being linked up to the CD changer this weekend and 108's being costed up for a refurb today (might need to wait until the new year).

All running smoothly so far, although the oil warning light came on yesterday but topped up with 5w30 FS magnatec and all sorted.

I hear you lot like pictures so here you go...

Best spec! I'm biased though... Enjoy your new car :D

It really is the best spec, thanks mate! I'd be keen to hear how the bilsteins ride on the CSL's as this might be my long term plan. Any pictures of your car too would be great to see!

Check my profile and see my thread on the car. A lot of photos and information there. I don't have CSLs, but the Bilsteins with Eibachs are lovely!

Just checked your car out. Looks spotless! You've set the benchmark pretty high for this colour and spec now! Let's see where I'm at in 6 months!

Hi and welcome - both to the forum and the Montego Blue Coupe club.

Good to hear you are enjoying it. There's just something about these cars that gets to us!

Welcome on board. Cracking looking Z4. 8)

Shame you lost your whippy though, these things happen to some poor souls.

Nice looking Coupe - that interior is identical to mine.

Make sure you look after the Champagne Nappa though because it shows every mark.

Do you think I should keep it?!
Entirely your personal preference and a subject of much harmless forum banter. :D

Will do mate. What do you use on it out of interest?

I use a "Magic Eraser" to remove any marks - particularly those from wearing blue jeans. It is important that you use a conditioner afterwards though and for me I've always liked Gliptone Liquid Leather.

That can't be great for the leather; way too abrasive for it. Soft leather brush with a neutral cleaner, then some conditioner does the trick. Look at my thread to see what I managed to clean without using something as aggressive as a magic sponge.

The eraser has worked just fine on stubborn marks for the last nearly five years ownership. I'm not on about cleaning the whole seat with it, just the difficult to shift marks. The rest of the seat is cleaned with Gliptone cleaner.
