Newbie Z4 3.0 2003 Buyers advice

Hello
Please could you tell me of any problems that I should look out for on 2003 3.0 Pretty fully loaded apart from no cd changer or parking sensors?

Car is around 50000 miles on the clock with full BMW history.

There are several threads in the Newbies section currently asking the exact same question. Try your luck in there for some good advice.
 
You'll find this elsewhere, but here is a few things to look out for...

-get the car hot and check the steering is smooth when unwinding lock (say off a roundabout). Steering can get sticky - mine got a whole steering rack and column under warranty
-check windows for funny noises when going up
-check under boot floor for a battery tray full of water
-at 50k miles find out when the rear springs were replaced
-check both doors actually open from the outside(!) and try the central locking with the key
-if the bonnet release is stiff it needs lubricating before it jams
-you won't miss parking sensors on the rear. You will hit the front end parking first (watch those curbs!)
-check the glovebox works
-if it has the 108 split rim alloys then budget for a refurb

I've had mine for 5 years now, 41k miles and had a couple of issues..

-Front hood lock replacement, hood would pop on occasions
-Driver's side window molding replacement, it was having a whistling noise on the highway
-Roof motor replacement, water damaged

All covered under warranty..
