The light you refer to is mainly telling you that you have emissions that are "below catalyst threshold bank 1" which is common on the N46.
Having owned a 2.0i E85 for the past 6 years i can vouch that it makes no difference what fuel is used. I always use V-power in mine now and on a rare odd occasion the light randomly comes on. The first couple of years i used any fuel, 97, 99 ron. It made no difference to the light randomly appearing.
The one thing that stops the light coming on is to "drive it like ya stole it" :lol:
I generally take mine up to at least 4k through the gears and rarely see the light. The N46 does like to be driven hard!
