Newbie with couple of questions

Hi all I have just taken delivery of a 2019 Z4 M40i in black. Amazing little car and fantastic engine only had for 3 days but loving it already.

Found this forum as as seems to be mainly UK have been reading through all the varies posts to get as much info as possible. Have owned few BMW’s before so glad to be back :D

I think I have issue with it updating to latest firmware as its on 07/2019.25 but when I try and update in car or on the app it says up to date no firmware available. Am I missing something, is there any way for force update?

Final question is it possible to get digital key for iphone on a 2019 car? The car has digital key function in idrive but think the older ones only work on android? Or will this get sorted if I manage to update firmware?

Hello and welcome.

You should be able update your software, but maybe you need to register online and also have the software update subscription? I’m not sure. You may need to go into BMW.

I’m not sure your 2019 would have digital key that will work with apple. You can remote unlock from app though.
 
thanks ori I think you are right it will need trip to BMW as appears from reading various forums the systems sometimes need deal firmware update to get them working correctly!

Quick side question, does anyone know of a way to track trip data. I can't see any way to log business trips via app or in car other than last trip recorder?

That’s what i thought but cant see anywhere in my BMW app where the trips are being logged! wondering if this is because of old firmware in car!
 
Thanks really please with her, Spec wise think it has every pack added so Tech, Comfort, Vision, Driver, black pack. Not sure many other options left so clearly original owner went to town. Only thing that’s different is wheels are not black so they must have changed spec.

You have to change your data consent to get trips info. It was recently introduced and required changes.

Looks great that. I like the wheels for now being black tbh. Just breaks it up just the right amount. Enjoy!

Thanks and yes to start I thought I would prefer the black wheels but you are right it breaks it up a bit :)

Thanks but don't have this option think because of old software, going to get into garage to see if they can sort :thumbsup:
