Hi guys,
We purchased a 2003 Z4 less than a week ago (my wifes really, but I get to play a bit too
) so thought this should be the first port of call. HAving had a brief look around it seems like a very good knowledgebase
Anyway, 5 days into her ownership and someone in her work car park has kindly gone straight across the nose with their blue paintwork. Sufficiently hard enough to knock the grille out and activate the air bag light. And of course they didnt bother to own up :x
Took the car back to the garage purchased from (for another unrelated issue) and asked them to reset the light. However they have told me it came straight back on. Now I know from scanning other posts that the airbag light can be a bit of a common fault on these, but given that it has been legitimately activated (as opposed to faulty pressure pads etc) what should the course of action be? The front end damage is nothing more than cosmetic - im guessing there's some sort of sensor that has perhaps been disturbed?
Not a nice way to start ownership :-( on the plus side we are both very pleased with the car so far.
