Newbie With A Z4MC

Hi guys,

I have had my M coupe for a couple of months and still loving it. I have the pro nav in my car and I read in the manual that text messages would also appear on the screen. All the phone functions work apart from the text messages. Is there something that I am not doing for this not to work?

Text messaging may be specific to certain phones. Unfortunately we don't get this feature stateside. :thumbsdown:

Welcome mate.

I believe it does depend on what phone you have and how compatible it is with the Nav. I can get address book no problem but not text, but not fussed to be honest, more a distraction than anything else.

yep it's all about the phone.. if it's an Microsoft WM6 jobby it will prolly do it.

Mine doesn't work for text message either (Sony Ericsson phone). I did have an M5 once that did but it was so fiddly to use (sending SMS) that I never bothered with it. Stuck to using the phone for that.

My 04 used to get SMS but my 07 doesn't using the same Motorola phone. I think BMW have decided to delete the option. Makes sense really.
