Newbie with a serious tuning disorder.

Just setting things up with an old friend. I have been in the industry 15 years and done all sorts of stuff F1 scientific research top end media equipment with very high standers on finish.

The guy i am setting up with Hopefully has been running a while. He has about everything you could ever need. 3 axis mills 5 axis mills a range of CNC lathes big right down to small with live tooling and wire cutting equipment.

great pics thanks for uploading them. youre son is very lucky to have a car like that
Hi Luke. My problem is I have two petrol head boys that have been brought up with horsepower as part of their natural diet, hence the track car. I built it so I could let them experience / learn how to push a car and find their limits within a controlled environment. Two weeks ago we were at TOTB 12 at the boot camp (Saturday session) my boys ended the day 3rd and 6th in the handling and 6th and 10th overall. They said it was way better than a trackday as they were trying to better themselves.
Many years ago when I was their age I was a F-----G Arsehole behind the wheel and with my line of work I could see it being a similar situation with my sons, so trackdays and competing is a big part of our entertainment.

So true on all counts!

They're lucky lads. Wish my Dad had been a bit more like you! :)

TOTB is a big deal. They did very well considering the competition. You must be proud.

Hi Peter. Yeh it was a buzz to hear their names over the tannoy as they pulled up to the start line and to find that the wee Mazda I had put together ( originally cheaply ) had some serious clout against the front runners. The boys wished we had entered for the main event on the Sunday. They wouldn't be any where in the competition but for an extra £25 they were ready to do a bit of show boating and entertain the crowd ( masters at sideways action). Probably an inherent gene from their old man

Hi I've eventually cleared my back log of work/customers projects and now ready to start my own. I want to build a v10 engined Z4 roadster to do some touring next summer. This is the engine I bought 18 months ago.73a98793b2d463647883e34b251c7d5c_zpsdf8e2f8e.jpg4e7591003169f4a10d29e39a503f17c0_zpsdf74f847.jpg
I hope to keep you all up dated as to progress.

Wow very exciting stuff the electrics side of things scare me away from this kind of thing!! So i will be very keen to hear what you have to do to get it running and working. Any plans for swapping the lsd out of an M car? I think its a straight swap and high up my list. What are you doing with the old engine?

Cant wait to see the progress on this

Excellent - looking forward to this

Maybe Jonny Essex can buy the old engine

wow some progress now... do you have a car lift? i'd imagine its pretty difficult sorting out the gearbox and running gear crawling under some axle stands

But seriously cant wait to see the outcome of this.... There are a few proper exciting mod threads going on at the moment, aside from the usual wheels and caliper painting threads.

My advice... add another 6 months onto your project estimate and another 2 grand and that's realistically what it's going to cost you / take. :)

haha a real cheeky question... but thought i'd ask before anyone else does... are you going to be changing the seats?? and if so are you selling the M sport ones?? if so... DIBS! :D
