Headlights needs to be de-gingered Stevie :D

Why would you care or worry about what colour the headlights are. When you have that engine???

Great work Steve
I was like you Monkey, it's only indicators dah. But the more I look at it I'm thinking they look rather dated. Oh well just another tick to be added on the completed to do list :(. Sounds Very Yoda'ish that !

Gumtree September 2013, mate informed me of a cheap Z4 item for sale. So purchased item and only stumbled over it yesterday, old age creeping way to quick I think. 71500968c90b318358c1bbd00e568bf5_zpsm8szgywe.jpg3bc818d721aa2d2f60e9d33617096a08_zpsdnqngbup.jpg
My motor now has its Sunday best on. I now remember buying it and it was a steal at £40, brand new and still in sealed wrapper :)

Was thinking about badge or de badge for the project. Then thought about bespoke item for it, what's your thoughts?
Now think about the initials and rotate 180 deg's and how strange is this?870125DA-7355-4602-9586-F65B674DC0EF.jpg

Hi Mark. Yeh I'm in all week, motor will be running but not sure if driving. We're hooking the laptop on to it tomorrow evening just to check over all the systems are working. Least you'll get to see it in the flesh, well maybe not it all still have a few panels to refit.

I wouldn't even go completely besopke just a standard M5 badge upside down would look cool, or maybe 3 of them, both wings and the boot

Just like the one in the picture but inverted!

To anyone that has been following this thread. Today I called in at stevie's workshop as I'd been working nearby. What an absolutely epic build. The quality of the install looks as good as factory only more. An the sound of the thing  .
If a lottery win was involved this would the make 5 car dream garage.
Top guy

Nice one Mark.
There are lots of people following this build and looking forward to the end result.

Cant wait to see the end result of this. The workmanship is exquisite to say the least. You also see so many builds die a death but this is so close now. It'll be a beast shredding rubber for many miles. You should get it in a magazine.

Mark was great to meet up today, thanks for popping by. It's good to get peoples thoughts on the build especially when seen in the flesh. For me this has been a labour of love, though my other half says I must have a mistress the time I spent away from home :(
I have to agree about how it sounds, you just know there's something very special lurking in the engine bay :) I actually got to drive it round the block last night, wasn't very great without power steering but it did drive under its own steem
We should meet up when I manage to get to some car shows later in the year.

Thanks,
I'm so close now I can't fail. I go to bed each night and instead of counting sheep, I just count down my to do list.

Keep plugging away mate, the end must be near. And keep posting the pictures
Your right just keep punching in the hrs and eventually a solution will arise :)
It's so frustrating when you know how to build a car and sort out any mechanical gremlins, but throw in a few can bus signals into the equation and it's dead in its tracks. Hopefully Scott and John my technical team can resolve this ever so small glitch :(

No pics yet but received my steering wheel from Royal steering wheels. What a cracking job they've done, what I'd like to do is fit the centre spoke from a Z4m which are black. Need to know if they fit straight on to standard Z4 wheel?

We spent last Saturday working on getting a can signal to the dash module. This signal if for rpm which hopefully will trigger power steering and chassis systems.1A069FA0-1589-4090-8A8B-6896D77DA39D.jpg
This may look very confusing but my software expert assures me it's simple.
The circuit board to the right is what he manufactured to send can signals that he programs by blue tooth. He eventually had the rpm working on the dash, but there's a part missing from the code that triggers chassis systems. What he's proposing is we get another similar car and tap in to it and he will capture signal while it's running. The rest he says is simples.
The final result will be a small box with a few wires to tie into wiring harness.
