Hi All,

I thought it was about time I introduced myself, I picked up my zed (pic below) just under two months ago from a guy in Wales.
All has been good with the car so far, just needed to replace the wishbone mount bushes (if thats what they are called)

My previous car was an RX8, which started me off on track days (highly addictive), having been too Snetterton, Castle Combe & Mondello Park.
I had the zed at Snetterton last Wednesday, which was great fun, the car performed brilliantly with the extra torque pushing it out of the corners 8) . Also the pedal set-up is great and makes heel/toe way easier to learn

I found just turning the DTC off, let me have a bit of slip without the DSC reigning the power in but I was glad to have its assistance in Coram when the car span up the unloaded rear wheel, causing the car to slide out. I 'm guessing this is due to not having an LSD fitted but to be honest it wasn't an issue after I was aware of the limitation and drove accordingly. I might turn the DSC off when I am more used to the car but right now I am glad to have its help

Anyway vid below, my fastest lap was 2.26, which was comparable to my friends RX8's who can get that time with those sticky Federal semi slicks. I was running the run flats (bridgestone on front, Pirelli P zero on rear) and I didn't find them bad at all, just the ride quality   I also have standard brakes, discs are well worn, unknown brake fluid and tbh brake fade was an issue hence my early braking and engine braking just to make them last the day, which they did

I would appreciate your advice on pad/disc recommendations as well. On my RX8 I had Hawk HPS pads and found them brilliant with standard discs so was going to go the same route with MTEC grooved painted discs. Tyre wise I am leaning towards Federal 595 RSR's after seeing how they perform. Also I keep my sessions on track strictly to 15 mins so minimise wear on the brakes, tyres, etc. so I don't need amazing brakes IMO

I also had fun following an M3, after speaking to him he had all the aids off, hence the sideways moments :driving:

nice, the reg suggest you fitted a V8 in there

Ha it fools no one though, that reg is entirely meaningless to me but I'm still keeping it 8)

The story behind it is the previous owner used to have a TVR Griffith and his name was Kevin James Aubrey.

Nice looking motor.
I took my 3.0i around Blyton park a few weeks ago and had the same issues with front brakes, never faded but just got very hot, was just doing 4 laps at a time so I didn't cook um.
Would just need some green or yellow pads in I think to make it better.

Hi and welcome aboard. Very nice colour.

There's a great and very active bunch of Zeds around the Bristol area.

Thanks for the warm welcome all :)

Thanks for the heads up on EBC pads Jolly, I'll look into it.
