Newbie with a few questions

Had the car for a month now......l.loving every minute. I've put over 2k in 4weeks lol.

I do have a few queries:

1) is there anyway of having the auto stop start switch off permanently
2) is there any way of having the auto wipers on permanently
3) my car temperature has never hit the halfway mark, it kinda only ever goes a third up, is this normal
4) I was on a budget and didn't get the sat nav. Is there any way of adding a Tom Tom into the space in the nav area to look oem

Not an E89 expert but am sure somebody on here can help. Temp sounds normal and the wipers should have a setting you can leave on thats auto. Have you checked the manual for this and the stop start?

With the TomTom it will be probably about what model you go for. Somebody here must have pictures of their own sat nav solutions for you.

I dont think you can program the auto start stop to be off permanently. I think it will always revert to ON when restarting the car. Dont know why this is.

Same with the auto wipers - they will always revert to OFF when starting the car. This is probably cos if the windscreen is frozen and you start the car, the wipers would automatically try and move, and possibly damage them?

My temp seems to fluctuate between 90 and 110 (I think) depending what I'm doing....

BMW do a retrofit Sat Nav upgrade using a Garmin device, but I know from the 1'er forum I visit that you can buy the tray (which replaces the dash storage box) and then wire up another brand, ie tomtom.

The temperature gauge in the car is for the engine oil, if you are driving around town it stays around the 1/4 to a 1/3 if your on a duel carriageway or motorway then it gets almost to half way.

Believe that stop start can be disabled by the dealer, not sure about the auto wipers though, give the dealer a ring.
