So after owning a si z4 coupe in 2014, I thought I'd start a new account for my new car after a few years away from BMW ownership.
I bought Gwest's M coupe back in March, https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=119365&hilit=amarone After a few frustrating months of having a new car I couldn't drive, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into M ownership.
The car has BC Racing coilovers so it's been interesting playing with the damping, the car responds well to small changes though I must admit, the temptation to constantly tweak and experiment is strong, but I think I've settled on a decent setup. I've had the ride height set to standard, and tweaked the front toe to neutral with about a degree of negative camber which has made the front end sharp without it being busy following ruts. A ZHP gearknob and Redline MTL fluid has transformed the gear change.
Immediate plans are to get the wheels refurbished in shadow chrome, fit Goodyear asymmetric 5 tyres to the front, and fit a BCS powervalve exhaust. That should keep me entertained for the year before getting the rod bearings done over winter, caliper refurb, and a front end respray and detail for 2021.
Looking forward to actually attending some meets, something I never managed in my last zed.
Thanks for reading.
