Oh really. I had always thought they would be time consuming to do but never thought about sheared bolts! The guy that had this car before said he was quoted £750 to Refurb as they were in that poor condition, then bought these. £750 still seemed expensive to me.

[ref]Haggisman[/ref], Yes, the battery being in the front and only accessible from latch inside when battery was flat was fun! Safe to say I now own a trickle charger.

[ref]Swiftly[/ref], would be nice to come along bit young family will probably prevent this. Used to organise meets for Peugeot Sport Club UK back in my bachelor days.

[ref]craig3.2[/ref], if given the choice I would go for the stubby. If car had to be completely standard then whippy perhaps!

IIRC the bolts are Titanium and cost about £5 each, but there are 20 on each wheel! And as the rims are alloy you get galvanic corrosion, which is what lifts the lacquer in the first place.

Luckily a previous owner of my 108 shod car had them refurbed so I sold them while they were still in good condition!

I had split rims on one of my Jags, I remember driving down the motorway one night and hearing a strange noise from the back of the car. Next day I noticed the rear wheel looked dirty and then I spotted two of the bolts were missing. One must of failed and then that added stress to the next weakest one, had a lot of hassle finding someone to refurbish them and when I did it was a small fortune. Personally I wouldn't have them again especially if they were 2nd hand.

[ref]Mr Tidy[/ref], Sounds like they're only worth having if they have been refurbished. Some sets for sale still have a high asking price despite being in a bad way. I think I will keep these wheels, I was going to buy 108's at a later date but these are growing on me.

[ref]Zed Baron[/ref], sounds like a lucky escape that more didn't snap!

Hello and welcome!
Looks like a nice clean example, shame someone's ran off with your roof though :poke:

What part of the fine Kingdom are you in?

P.S. Stubby is life :fuelfire:

I would have preferred a coupe actually but it would be double the price for one! I'm in Dunfermline.

I quite like ma stubby...guess I'm on the correct side of Scotland to have this then? haha.

Welcome. Car looks very tidy indeed. I like the little boot spoiler - makes it a bit more individual

Thanks mate...lots of corrosion and poor paint work but I'm mega anal but I knew my budget meant not a perfect example! Overall it's tidy though. I wasn't too sure about the spoiler to begin with as the Z4's rear is already rather well defined. But I like it!

Small world eh! I'm originally from Kirkcaldy but I do much prefer it here now! The car was only a 10 minute walk from my house and has spent time in Dunfermline most of it's days.

Very lol
Probo is at the top end of Dunfermline and I'm in the new Dulochy end

Handy that the car was so close, I got mine from Linlithgow but it lived in Dunfermline for a long time as well

I'm in Dulochy bit too, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a Blue Z4 coupe

lol... don't talk to me about being anal... I ended up about 5k over (an already substantial) budget just to get a spotless 1-owner example :D

BTW I lived in Dunfermline for a stint a good few years back (Abington Road just at the south of Pittencrieff park).

I don't think I will have this car forever, otherwise I would also be paying extra to get that perfect example! I think one wing has been painted before, which is part of the corrosion problem in the usual areas. It's actually not a bad job, when 6 inches away from the paint you can tell though! I think I will try and source some good quality panels in the same colour...probably hard to find arches that aren't corroded.
