Newbie - starting to do something to my car other than driving it!

Hi all and hope everyone is keeping as well as possible given the current circumstances.

Been a while since I've been on forum due to numerous inconveniences like work etc.
However after buying my E86 back in October, and doing very little apart from driving it :driving: , I have decided it's time to start to do a bit work on it.
I started by giving it a very good detailed clean and as I went made a list of things I wanted to know / do.
Included on this list were some items that I believe are possibly missing - I have attached some photos.
Their is an area in the boot where 2 straps exist but not the tool kit?
And under the bonnet there is a area with 2 threaded studs on a flat section which is located in front of the brake reservoir where it appears that something is missing?
Also is the green unleaded fuel button in the boot simply to tell you what fuel the car uses or does it have another use? - Photo attached.
The car also has a non standard gear knob, exhaust system and brakes and I will post these photo's later in an attempt to find out exactly what they are.
If anyone has ever owned this car then any history info would be most welcome - The number plate is YR57 JPV.

Hopefully I have avoided breaking any forum rules etc :D

Mark.

The boot you are missing hazard triangle , under bonnet that bracket is for the S54 ZM secondary air pump & not fitted to Si Se models .

Thanks very much mr wilks & z4pilot.
I am now a slightly wiser Z4 owner. :D

May be a daft question but it possible / has anyone added a secondary air pump to the non M Z4 and would it increase BHP?

1) Not that I know of.
2) absolutely not.

Its function is only to reduce emissions from cold IIRC

I believe you are correct - google quote "The air injection smog pump pushes air into the exhaust system right after the exhaust manifold, to help intercept and burn those unburned fuels".

Good evening all, some more questions about my Z4......

Can anyone identify these discs / calipers?
They have BMW stamped on the calipers and the rear discs are approx. 33cm / 13" diameter.

Does anybody recognise this gear knob?

I have also discovered that my quad exhaust is a powerflow one but do not think it is stainless as it quite rusty in places.

I am also looking to sell my original split rims so I will be putting these onto the sales forum in the very near future.

As always any info much appreciated.

Lots of photos attached.

Quads.. nice 8)

The rears are probably standard which is 294mm discs. The discs themselves look like MTEC

Shift knob, no idea. Looks okay, I'd prefer a ZHP.
