Folks
First off, great forum!
New the the z4 stable but not to BMWs ....have been a fan all my life!
Recently bought a fairly tidy 3.0 in titanium and now in the process of getting it the way I want it -
Upgraded the standard 17s with rfts to a lovely set of 19 LM reps with fallen fk452s - courtesy of R1andy on here.... Very nice guy....wheels absolutely immaculate and tyres pretty much new as described! Even gave me a 'score' back for fuel! Cheers Andy!
Also have new eibachs to go on this week....pics to follow!
Anyway, getting back to the point! I picked the car up last week and it drove flawlessly all the way back home. The next morning I washed, waxed and serviced the car fully (oil and filter, air filter and new Bosch spark plugs). The car ran perfectly on the following test drive, however, took my old man out for a spin today and it started hesitating badly under load. There is no engine light on and tick over etc is normal.
I'm fairly sure it's coil packs given the symtoms but not 100% sure without having a code reader etc. My thoughts are that they were probably on the way out and with me changing to new spark plugs etc just finished one of them off.
I know it's best practice to change all six as the rest will probably be close behind!
I intend to get them fitted tomorrow but before I go buying them does anyone think it could be something more sinister??
Cheers
Rich
