So just got picked myself up a 2006 2.5 Z4, Black with red leather. And I'm absolutely loving it, although i have been waiting for about 3 months to find the right one!

As I've been waiting for a while I've had plenty of time to look around for the most popular upgrades etc. Already have the ZHP stubby gear knob on order but I've found that the one thing I dislike is the exhaust. BMW (Vines Guildford) have quoted me 90 quid for the chrome tips through themselves, but surely there must be alternatives somewhere? Internet searching has not proved very fruitful though. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks
Chris.

Welcome to the forum. Are you local to Guildford then I take it?

You have quite a few options for after-market exhausts. If you're going for just the backboxes it can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be really. The £90 chrome tips from BMW are purely aesthetic and have no effect as far as exhaust gas flow, sound or weight reduction of course.

Some options are: Eisenmann, Hayward & Scott, Remus, Miltek but there are loads really. There are a few members on here with the 2.5 cars and after-market exhausts. Pawnsacrifice has a custom quad exhaust from Eisenmann that sounds really, really nice so I'm sure he'll be along soon. Otherwise, do some searching here and on youtube for those brands to get a feel for the noise

Yep Guildford/Farnham local so not far from Reading! Aesthetic was all I was after to begin with as don't want to get too heavy into modding at the beginning, but thanks for the options though. At the moment the noise sounds great, coming from owning a standard vw golf before! I'm sure the more I get into the Z4 spirit the more I'll see others and hear others and get the buzz for improving my own!

Cool, used to live in Farnham myself actually around a year ago :)

You can most likely get those exhaust tips cheaper from Joe @ Soper BMW Lincoln. Email: [email protected] and mention the forum and you get a decent discount!

Hi and welcome :)

if contacting Joe, you better call him as he is too busy most of the times to get back quickly via email (him and his colleague Jamie are both great guys)

All went well! Joe seemed like a nice guy and helped out with a discount with reference from here, so thanks to you guys as well for the knowledge. If all goes to plan I could have the trims by Wednesday. As soon as the weather perks up I'll post pics of the car! Cheers guys.
