Welcome dunk , good choice of weekend wheels 
i had auto previously with Zcoupe & couldn't fault it in any way but the recent purchase of my 2.5 manual has me surprised with how nice the clutch+gearbox are to use .
The only real answer to your question though is to try testdriving both

Hi dunk,
All depends what you're used to - some on the forum have had autos and swear by them. For a weekend Zed I'd be holding out for a 3.0si manual.

There are a few different power levels the 2.5 came with, I think the facelift si models 2006 onwards had 220hp with some earlier cars having 170hp, the 3.0si gets to 60mph in 5.7secs & the 2.5 in around 7 and a bit.
I'm sure that's probably enough for spirited driving but the difference would be the torque output & the revs required to generate it-the 3litre will have more grunt at lower revs.

First one seems expensive for high miles and and ten years old,also a 2.5 and in one of the more regular colours.
The black one seems more reasonable,lower miles less money younger and cheaper,
I would plump for this one over the silver one,but its hard to tell without a look in person.
However depending on your budget you may be wiser getting the 3.0

Hi dunc, had a quick look & both cars look tidy but neither have M-sports seats which a lot of people prefer and doesn't look like they are heated either which again is very popular, apart from that I would ask the private seller if he has regularly cleared out the roof drains (can't really do that with the dealer car) letting them block up kills the roof motor.
