Newbie Question regarding DISA on 3.0si

Hi all,

I'm new to Z4 ownership, I have a 06 3.0si coupe.

My question is does the coupe 3 lite 265bhp engine have the same problem with the disa flap falling apart?
I did a search but couldn't find the answer.
I'd like to prevent any possible failures if it is susceptible.

On another note, I noticed a rear spring broken :headbang: , going to order a set of eibach's to replace the oe springs.

Hi Neil,

Hello and Welcome along

IIRC the N52 engine has a different design of DISA to the M54 and it is not prone to the failures experienced on the earlier engines - I'm sure I read a thread on here where a member stripped out the DISA from a 3.0Si with the intention of changing it as preventitve maintance only to find the original to be in A1 condition.

Hmmmm. My car was on 68k miles when I did that, it's now on 95k... Perhaps I should whip it out again when I hit 100k and provide an update
