Newbie question Coupe 3.0

Hello all,

I'm just looking to buy a Z4 coupe. I've seen a couple of 2007's listed. However, can someone please let me know what he difference is between the 3.0 Sport and the 3.0 SE. How can I tell which is which.

Any help, much appreciated,

Jon

Hi Jon

The differences that I know of would be the sport suspension (car will have a slightly lower stance than the SE), the wheels are usually different too (although I have known sport wheels to be fitted to an SE from new). On the interior you will notice the chukier M steering wheel and also M sport seats. I'm sure peeps will point out anything that I have missed but I've listed what springs to mind...

Good Luck,

Cal

Yep M sport seats would be the biggest loss for me, although they were also optional on the SE so you might find one with them.

Si has substantially more horsepower and torque as well. Love mine. Makes me smile. :driving: :D

My 07 3.0Si with Sport Package/manual trans came new with the standard steering wheel. Another difference between countries?

SI is worth it just for the sports seats, the SE seats look like a leather sofa.

I thought they both had the same new 260bhp engine? And that it's just the older 3.0 pre '06 engined cars that had 230bhp?

Spec differences between countries. We don't get the basic post-facelift 3.0 engine here, but they do in the US.

In the US, the coupe only came as 3.0Si and M. M seats were extra.

It would have been great had they included the M steering wheel with the M seats... kinda a "M-lite" interior package.

As others have mentioned the differences between the SE and Sport are essentially as follows:

- 18" MV2 wheels (although there is a wide variety of wheels on the Coupe - mine has 18" solid five spokes)
- M-sport suspension (albeit difficult to see!)
- M-sport seats (lovely)
- M-sport steering wheel (very chunky)

In addition to the above the other way to spot the Sport is the anthracite headling.....

Aside from that, mechanically they are pretty much identical same engine etc.

Those are actually the figures for the 2.5si.

In Uk the 3.0SiSE and 3.0Si sport both have the 262bhp N54 engine.

but the coupe only came as Si (or M), we had no SE. There was an SE roadster, though.

In the UK the Coupe came with Si (N series) engine, however there were two spec levels - SE & Sport....full model descriptions being

Z4 Coupe 3.0si SE
Z4 Coupe 3.0si Sport

Were there two spec levels across the pond? (notwithstanding there was only one 3.0litre engine)

The "base" model was the Si. You could add a Sport package (sport button, 18 inch staggered tires (on 203 wheels), sport suspension) and Premium package (8 way power seats, BMW assist with Bluetooth, Auto dimming mirrors, storage package, Xenon headlamps). M seats were an additional option as was extended leather, headlight washers, navigation, wood trim. The M seats required you buy the sport package, but they were an additional item (as was getting them heated).
