Hi Guys and Gals

Ok so after previously having had a 330 coupe in the past I plumped for a z4 3.0 M Sport on an 05, loaded with just about every toy bar cruise control, lord knows why that was missed off but hey ho :)

Ok so here is the short list :-

The car rides fine and steers ok but occasionally seems to have mind of its own under braking or on straight road, not all the time though, is this a trait of the M Sport suspension or need to get it checked out ?

I am after an iPhone 5, any suggestions on compatible devices, eg dice etc, most only seem to go up to iPhone4?, car has bluetooth and cradle etc, im after controlling via Steering wheel

I find the gear change a bit clunky, I had similar problem with my 330, accepted I can get trans and gear fluids changed which will help, how much is also down to CDV?, changes at slow speed in 1st / 2nd take alot to get right.

Finally what else has tempted you car wise?, I at some stage fancy a 123d coupe chipped, test drove one and its certainly an interesting car, chipping would likely produce a coupe which very few supposedly quick cars could live with at mid range speeds :)

I had a 123d coupe before my z4 coupe and loved it! It wasn't chipped but was impressive for a 2 litre diesel. It had power right from low revs all the way to the limiter. Treat 3rd gear as 2nd gear and you had a massive power band to play with.

Has your car got run flats? That can cause the weaving and tramlining under braking.

Sounds like mine felt when I bought it as it had run flats on it and they made the handling very twitchy on country lanes and on motorways it felt like it just wanted to veer off in another direction every now and then! I replaced them with normal tyres and it's fine now.

Yeh Runflats, no obvious fault ie brakes ok and drives straight but at times it can feel like your fighting it for no reason which is annoying.

I been told (rightly or wrongly) save your money get normal tyres recovery and tyre weld?

I do like the lazy power of turbo diesels, its a tough call, straight six makes a lovely noise and is so smooth, but next one I do fancy the 123d, chipped should do 250 and a shed load of torque

It will be the run flats for sure! I put on 4 new non run flats and bought two tins of tyre weld and a small compressor and carry them in the boot :)

Got rid of my runflats within 5 days, it was like driving a train sometimes, got a cheap deal on some dunlops £500, bargain and they seem pretty sticky and I just love roundabouts.

Yeh, sounds so similar, its great most of time, I`ll make sure the run flats are ahem well worn first now I know :)

anyone done CDV?, I do find low speed gear changes annoying, apart from that though, open up an Straight Six is such a lovely noise and top down means ya can hear it all the better :)

No, bite the bullet, it will be a different car, honest, you wont regret it, rf's are poo. I'm putting the things on an old set of rims to do a track day and rip the s**t out of them that way, much more fun. NIKE!

I'm not sure about that - some kid in a 123d tried to race me on one of the first days I got my Z4. Normally I wouldn't bite, but he pulled up next to me with a load of his mates in the car and called me a w***er! He clearly wanted a race. We were at traffic lights on a 50mph road leading to a motorwat sliproad, and I absolutely destroyed him. I was probably 100 metres ahead of him by the time we reached the sliproad. I would have loved to have seen his little face :)

Yes modern diesels are quick, but they're not that quick. Not many everyday road cars can beat a 3.0 Z4 0-60.
