Hi all,
I'm picking up my 2013 28i on Saturday (sorry dunno what E number that is E89?).
I managed to write off my Lotus Elise S2 the thursday before Xmas, but luckily I managed to get some decent money for it.

I wasn't able to find anything decent on the Lotus side of things and I figured after 3 years it was time for a change....
So the Z4 was selected as the best fit for my wallet and appeal and I managed to find a nice red 28i in Yeovil with 56k miles on it, for relatively good money (well cheaper than a similar aged Elise!)

Time will tell if the Z4 is for me as I hear they can be a bit marmite but I'm looking forward to air conditioning, comfy seats and a stereo i can hear ! :-) Not to mention all the other good things.

I have some questions to ask regarding stone chip repairs and stone chip protection but I'll read through and see if they're answered by other posts before... Just wanted to say hi! So HI!

8.

Welcome to the forum, yes that's an E89 I believe they are very comfy inside and they look great in red

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new purchase! I'll beat others to it, and I'm sure you'll hear it again, but we love to see pics in this forum!

Hi All,

ok just got back... please find attached (hopefully) some pictures....
My only Gripe... Professional Audio installed Bluetooth to connect my phone but don't seem to be able to play any music from my phone.
Phone says connected for Call Audio.... Anyone managed to get it to work or will I need to invest in a USB stick?

Hi, that’s a lovely looking z4 you’ve found
I also arrived here via the Lotus Elise route (Elise S for me), you’re going to find it a lot easier to get in & out of :P

Re audio - there should be an Aux & USB socket under the centre armrest. With Y cable and the right connection for your phone you will be able to connect to the audio and control via steering wheel or head unit
Not sure on the bluetooth side of things as I only use it for phone calls.
I have an old iPod permanently connected in the arm rest

Car looks great. Love the colour
We have exactly the same car ( model and year) and found the same problem not playing music via bluetooth. Not that we really mind as we prefer CDs and dab radio anyhow.

I don't know if this applies to you, but I connected my new iPhone this week, and as opposed to my old iPhone, no music via blue tooth, I went to settings, Bluetooth, found the bmw connection, info and ticked the relevant boxes, all good, as with all new smart phones, you have to tell them to share their music, contacts etc

Welcome cre8toruk. I am fairly new to the forum as well, joined in 2016 when I had my Z4 sDrive 20i. Unfortunately, for me, I only kept it for 8 months. Missed it so much that I have just ordered a new Z4 M40i for delivery in March.

Your car looks very nice and I’m sure you will love it. That 28i engine is terrific, I had it in my 2014 428i MSport Gran Coupe and it was a flier.

Congratulations! The car looks really good in red and I’m sure you will love it. My car is a 2010 and although I can connect my iPhone via Bluetooth you can’t play music. I don’t have USB in the armrest so have t use the auxiliary socket. Could be different on a 2013 car, of course.

Welcome to the forum - your E89 looks fantastic in that colour.

Congrats on your new to & welcome to the forum
Test driving a e89 3.5 tomorrow
So maybe a jump from e85 to the dark side ??? Who knows :driving:

One thing that didn't come with my car is a manual... I've found one online which I'm pouring over.

IRD do you know the name of the red for our cars? Or is it just "Red" ? I've got some stonechips I might want to touch up and it'd be good to know what the colour is called to get the right one.

I had a similar "issue" with a boxster I had (no audio streaming via Bluetooth) but I solved that by fitting a better stereo.
It is a little bit crazy that a 2013 car isn't able to do it. I'd hoped i could upgrade the firmware of the radio but that seems to be a no go too.

I might have to resolve this in a similar way to before with a replacement stereo... Any suggestions anyone? For now a largish USB stick will / USB hard drive will suffice I guess.

...and this is why I can’t get enough of Z4s both old and new. Just compare that long nose to the white Octavia next to it.

Welcome and Enjoy...
