Newbie - Picking up Z4 28i M Sport tonight!

Hi all,

Thought I'd introduce myself, I'm picking up my 2014 Z4 28i M Sport this evening! I'm based in Warlingham, Surrey.

My first BMW in quite a few years, last was an e36 325i!

I've owned a lot of cars in the 11 years I've been driving ranging from TT's, R53 MCS's to a TT engine in a Polo!!

Thought it was about time I grew up a bit and got a smarter car, was debating on a 2012 TTS but this Z4 has blown me away!

So it's a 2014 28i M Sport with A LOT of optional extra's including Pro Nav, Extended Leather, Comfort Pack, 19" 326M wheels, Canbera Kansas leather, Media Package, Heated seats, 8 speed auto, Extended lighting.... goes on and on!

My idea is to not modify this in any way but I won't hold my breath.

I decided on the 28i over the 35i as it seems the perfect balance of performance and economy as this is an everyday car for me including some work mileage.

Welcome to the forum Steve, sounds like you've done your homework - lots of nice extras too :)
Post up some pics once you've collected it - 19" 326 M alloys look great on the E89 :thumbsup:

White looks surprisingly look. Very elegant, with a hint of evil. Bit like Cruella DeVille.
 
For me it looks best in white or grey but my last 4 cars have been grey and I've never had a white car. This one just happened to be advertised with all the options.
 
Very nice 8) I love mine I wanted a white one also but a deep sea blue with 8000 miles and the exact spec I wanted came up the rest is history Enjoy your new motor. :thumbsup:

Just pop a set of non run flats on it Steve, you won't believe the difference, night and day. I actually liked the run flats on my E89...that was until I threw a set of MPSS's on, I will never ever go back to run flats.

Hope you enjoy the forum, lots of good info on here...as well as some handbags now and again... :roll:

Twin turbo is your man for the 28i, he's got a lot of knowledge, although he'll probably get you to modify the thing to death... :lol:

Wow, what a car. It's a beautiful cruiser in Drive and Comfort mode and very comfortable (especially compared to an R53 MCS on coilovers!) but then you flick the gear selector left, put the suspension in sport and you can have a lot of fun!

I'm no Chris Harris so maybe it isn't the last word on ultimate sports car vs Porsche for example but I absolutely love it!!

This morning I took the stubby aerial off the Mini and transferred in to the Z4 as the standard one was annoying me! Today I'll order some new number plates for it as I have dealer plates unless they're original!
 
Great looking car, hope you enjoy it.
I've avoided going for white or black cars as I know I'm too idle to keep them clean... :oops:
