Hi all, I've been reading up heavily on this and other forums on guess what? The Z4 roof motor problem. I bought my 2004 Z4 about 19 months ago and the roof was fine until last December when it refused to open. The place I bought it from had replaced the motor (fairly badly I have now found out) before I bought it. The motor had got wet as usual and I've now got a new motor (recommend RoofMotors.co.uk for next day service and at a good price) so I am now ready to reinstall the roof with it's THIRD motor in 60K Miles!
I have seen on this and another forum that a few people have moved the motor into the boot (where it belongs) and would like to do it but I need to be sure where to drill the hole to pass the pipes through and that if you run them along the plastic floor of the hood recess that they don't get squashed by the hood when its down. any comments and preferably pics would be very welcome.
I believe there is a guy who does it with the roof still on. Wow, that must be a job for a contortionist!
