Newbie owner

I am about to purchase a 2011 E89 2.3i S-Drive and thought it would be a good idea to join the Forum.
I have already watched a video from one of your members on how to fit a third party Sat Nav system which is one thing I wanted in the spec. of the car I was looking for. Shame it doesn't pop up and down like the factory fitted item. When we were looking for a car, it seems that not many had this option. Maybe it was an expensive box to tick when buying the car new?
Looking forward to some top down motoring this summer! :D

Hi and welcome - once you've been on here a while you'll find this is an expensive 'box' - just wait till you see what others have added to their cars

Welcome to the forum.

Any straight 6 is a good choice IMHO - don't forget we'll be waiting for photos!

Hello and welcome to the forum. You are right the iDrive sat nav was pretty expensive.

If you had ticked that option when new in 2011 BMW would have relieved you of 2,225 of your Great British Pounds

The test drive this morning (with the owner driving) put a big smile on my face. He did offer to let me drive, but I didn't know the roads but he certainly showed me what it was cable of......That can wait until a weeks time when I collect it and drive it home. I couldn't believe the smooth delivery of the power and the great soundtrack with the top down. Amazingly, you could hear the engine more with the roof up.
My son has a 3 series 300d Touring with M sport suspension, which is a bit harsh, but I have driven that and it felt as fast as this.
I can't figure out how to add photos but it's white, with red leather and standard 17" alloys, (my wife's prefered colour scheme), and 45k miles with full BMW service history. Front tyres have been recently replaced with non run flats but it still has run flats on the rear. My son has replaced all the run flats on his car as he says it handles better and are cheaper to buy. Can't wait for next week......... :D

Sounds like you are in for some good times. I can vouch for the improvement NRF tires make. Enjoy the rides

Your son's 330d may be more powerful (depending what generation it is), but won't sound nearly as good as your 23i!

I hope the week doesn't drag too much, but it's good to have something to look forward to these days.

If you want to add photo(s) once you've collected it, on the left below the box you type in there is a button marked "Add files" - just click on that.
