Newbie needs a hand pls

Hya all
I've had my 06 z3 3L since sat so am slowly learning what's what. Couple of things I've noticed that I could do with a heads up on please

1. Is it normal for the front fogs to get misty/water droplets in? Easy to remove the lens and dry?
2. Passenger side headlight washer leak. It's not a split pipe but from opening the inspection home I saw the large round thing that the pipe goes into leaking badly. There is a join in the middle and its a stream! I've bent pipe double n tie wrapped for now to stop it.
3. Does the breaking spring issue affect cars after 04? I've seen many posts about springs snapping but not on cars seemingly after 04 (hopefully)
4. Are there any easy 1st things to do that new owners don't know or are not aware of? I've done the sound generator mod.

Can't help you with the 2nd question.

Re breaking springs, yes this is common too on zeds even after 04, but they are an easy and cheap fix.

No 2, get down to your local stealer and order the parts,sounds like an easy fix.To check your springs, you'll need to jack the car up and remove the rear wheel to have a good look, They break at the bottom so very simple to see if yours are broken.Other than that, just drive the thing and enjoy.
 
While any E85/6 can have broken springs, the incidence of such does seem to be less with later models. Or maybe it's so common, no one bothers to report it any more? In any case, not something to worry about, some people have intentionally replaced perfectly serviceable springs, so obviously not a big deal.

One more good thing to do. Unless you have a coupe, be sure your roof drains are kept clear. Search around for more info on this.

BTW, you own a Z4 mate! :poke: Best get that straight. Zed FOUR, not Zed three! :)

Wohoooo! A read of the very useful FAQ and I'm outside testing and yippee, I can drop the roof off the key button. RESULT

Not too chuffed I have the basic hifi tho. Sounds ok but it would be nice if more bass. As ever it looks a HUGE job to do anything about it.

My 108's are a bit pants too. Been quoted £400+VAT for a refurb but have found a place called FA Wheels that do a trade in like for like. Drive in, give em your 108's and for 360 quid all in they give you a refurbed set n swap tyres over, balance n fit. Two tone paint job too. May do that on sat

Be nice to get a build spec on my car so far I've found I have cup holders. BT phone prep. Latest 3.0L motor. The dash has a turned ally facia. Silver sports elec seats. Cruise.

Would like mood lighting for the wife... As she's always in a bloody mood!!
